We always dine here at least once on our anniversary trip. My hubby would mutiny if he didn't get his Six Pence fix. They have great bread pudding and an outstanding beer selection.
Pretty decent food. I had a chef's salad with a cheese soup. Both were tasty. Wife has a soup and salad. The messed up on the salad initially but we're extremely apologetic and quick at replacement. Overall, an above average experience.
Plowman Lunch with Onion Soup. EXCELLENT on a cold day. Could have had a little larger cheese wedge and a little larger bread roll. All in all ,just perfect !
Fish and chips and chicken strips appetizer were delicious. Atmosphere was magical with it snowing outside. Food was a little pricey, but probably typical for the location. Service was attentive without being annoying....Thanks, Holland! Manager checked in on us pleasantly and nonchalantly (friendly... not like he was checking up on the service). Very homey and welcoming.
The shepherd’s pie arrived and it was literally a salad with a small side of chili... for 15 bucks. Don’t order it. The fish and chips were good. The bangers and mash looked okay. Pricey but typical for the area i guess.
