Went to the Boone area for a long weekend mini-vacation with the family and was disappointed with this hotel. We use IHG properties almost exclusively and almost always have great experiences with Holiday Inn Express properties, which is why this was frustrating. The staff appeared to not care, the breakfast buffet was out of food, plates, and other sundries and the cleaning staff was extremely slow. Plus, our shower had a large patch of black mold on the ceiling. I understand that it was a busy time of year, but it was the lackadaisical attitude of the staff that made it an unpleasant experience. We will not be back here.
We have stayed here several times & it's starting to show its age. I have always been disappointed that they didn't replace the hot tub but just fenced around it. The last 2 times the pool is so cold, your lips turn blue 30 seconds in, no apologies from the front desk. For people with kids, a warm pool is necessary!!! There was no breakfast since they forgot to defrost everything the day before?! The lobby & kitchen area were dirty with food all over the floor & tables. The good things... It's fairly quiet, the beds were comfy, a short drive to downtown & beside Woodlands. For what we paid, I would have rather stayed anywhere else in BR though.
I enjoyed my stay here. The staff was very nice and helpful and the room was pretty nice.
Very pleasurable experience. Clean with excellent service. Would have given a 5 but the breakfast could have been better. Pancake, drink, & coffee machine were constantly down or empty.
Clean motel with friendly staff. Good location. Rates are very reasonable. I've stayed here many times visiting my daughter who is a student at nearby App. State University. Only negative is the road construction out front that has been going on for about 5 years. Good news is they've started paving the road out front. Their almost finished working on the road.
